Kim Grant —
Instructional Systems Designer
Please introduce yourself and describe, in broad terms, what you do for Delex.
My name is Kim Kidwell and I am an Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) for Delex. As an ISD, I determine training requirements for our clients and help design interactive Web- and classroom-based training.
How do you feel about your work environment?
I enjoy the flexibility and openness of our environment. Management is always interested in hearing ideas on ways to improve processes and products for our clients. They also realize that we are human, with outside obligations and responsibilities. We utilize flex time, which allows us to coordinate a schedule that works for the individual, as long as it doesn't negatively impact important meetings or working with other team members.
What skills have you learned or developed at Delex?
During my first year with Delex, I was able to utilize and develop a wide range of ISD skills, from conducting front-end analysis to developing detailed storyboards, to performing QA and testing of final products.
What do you consider your greatest accomplishment at Delex?
I think my greatest accomplishment, to date, was helping define an overall curriculum for one of our Navy communities. I helped develop a road map which we are now using to guide us as we develop many modules of self-paced training for that community.
