Automated Investigation Management System (AIMS)
Delex designed and developed a PC-based system to assist USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) in meeting program management responsibilities relative to Food Stamp Program compliance. We conducted an extensive requirements analysis, interviewing both headquarters management personnel and users to distill functional requirements and business process models. As a result of the requirements analysis process, we gained singular insight into the functions, needs, processes and procedures by which FNS headquarters and its Compliance Branch Area Offices ensure program compliance. We then developed, delivered and, subsequently, maintained AIMS, an automated system that enables USDA investigators and managers to track Food Stamp program fraud investigation related data throughout the investigation and adjudication process. To satisfy USDA’s unique requirements, AIMS features:
- Four separate regional versions of the AIMS application that reside throughout the United States, each with unique data.
- One Headquarters version of the AIMS application that has all the regional data combined.
- Custom built Import and Export functions between the regional and headquarters systems. This includes the importing and exporting functions and automated e-mail transmission of data.
- Integration of Crystal Reports, Visual Basic executables, MS Access databases, MS Word, MS Excel, RoboHelp and e-mail capabilities to create the entire AIMS application.
- Online context sensitive Help system written and created by Delex.
- Reporting capability integrated into AIMS including an Ad Hoc Reporting module.
